Healthy cycles to hygiene and dignity

On Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024, we at Tresna Foundation stand together to support initiatives for menstrual health and hygiene. Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.
In rural regions and lesser privileged societies poor menstrual health and hygiene affect the education, health and career opportunities of girls and women. The lesser access to menstrual products, water and insufficient resources to manage menstruation together with inhibitions contribute to deprivation of health among the womenfolk.
During the past few years Tresna Foundation has been constantly working towards increasing awareness on menstrual hygiene in the rural regions. Project Swabhiman focuses on conducting interactive sessions for young girls at schools to raise awareness on menstrual hygiene and well being. We also distribute sanitary products for the girls to achieve good menstrual health. Project Garima has been effective in improving sanitation facilities at schools and in rural areas with construction of sanitation units.
Today we encourage young girls to break free from the period stigma and educate the women in their families and communities on menstrual hygiene. It shall create a positive impact in creating a tomorrow where women feel confident without the discomfort associated with menstruation. Let us keep the conversation going with supporting menstrual hygiene.
