About the Project
Tresna Foundation, committed to empowering underprivileged communities, launched Project Kaushalyam. The project aims to promote skill development among women living in rural areas and equip them with the necessary tools to become self-reliant and financially independent.
Objective: Project Kaushalyam was initiated with the goal to provide women in rural areas with an opportunity to learn new skills and enhance their existing ones. It aims to offer a platform where women can learn the art of tailoring and stitching, and acquire valuable knowledge and experience to start their own businesses. The project is designed to be sustainable, empowering women to not only improve their own lives but also the lives of their families and communities.
Mission: The mission of Project Kaushalyam is to help women in rural areas become financially independent and self-sufficient. By providing them with training in tailoring and stitching, the project intends to enable women to start their own small-scale businesses and generate income to support themselves and their families. The project also aims to promote gender equality and empower women to take charge of their own lives.
Action: Our pilot project is set up in a rural village named Raghupura situated in Chaklasi of Nadiad. Women from the surrounding villages can enroll in the center to receive training in tailoring and stitching. The program is entirely free of cost, allowing women from economically weaker backgrounds to access the opportunity. The training center is equipped with modern sewing machines and other necessary equipment. The women receive training from experienced instructors, who not only teach them the technical aspects of tailoring and stitching but also provide guidance on business planning, marketing, and financial management.
