The pursuit of sustenance
Tresna Foundation prides in sharing the wonderful journey of Mrs.Sumaiya Vohra. She teaches sewing to students and women in the surrounding areas of our Indiranagari centre. Mrs.Sumaiya Vohra joined our faculty under Project Kaushalyam as a tutor and has been motivated by the work done by Tresna Foundation here.
Mrs.Sumaiya Vohra lives in Pierre with her family and amid her struggles the art of sewing helped her. She completed an advanced course in sewing and set forth to earn for her household with sewing skills. Initially small orders were recieved from the surrounding areas of her residence and over a period of time it traversed to larger orders from customers.
Tresna Foundation’s vision to equip women and girls with skillsets through Project Kaushalyam encouraged Mrs.Sumaiya Vohra to join our team as a tutor. Her ardent desire to teach sewing skills and thereby help young students attain a sustainable livelihood was realised. She continues her excellence in teaching sewing skills to the students and women enrolled for the course here.
Team Tresna inspires and is inspired by the determination of our faculty to enhance the lives of young girls and women in the region. Project Kaushalyam marks milestones with our tutors like Mrs.Sumaiya Vohra who are determined to pursue the cause of encouraging sustainable growth for women in the region.
