The quest for equanimity in sanitation
World Toilet Day, a global observance held on November 19th each year serves as a reminder on the importance of proper sanitation and access to sanitary facilities with dignity for all. Tresna Foundation through its Project Garima addresses this critical issue by constructing washrooms and toilet blocks in schools and villages at various places.
We have championed the cause of good health and hygiene to usher in progress for rural lives with construction of washrooms. It ensures that girl students have access to cleaner sanitary facilities even during menstruation at schools. A direct resultant being reduced drops outs by adolescent girls and promoting good health.
Our efforts simultaneously contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty and improving the quality of living with education, sanitation and dignity. Project Garima has covered the lengths and bounds of rural regions with construction of washrooms and toilet blocks in schools situated at Kheda and Anand Districts.
World Toilet Day reminds us that access to proper sanitation is a fundamental human right. We work with greater momentum towards creating access to clean and safe toilets for children especially for girls and women living in regions with limited access to facilities.
