Uniting for a stronger healthcare
Tresna Foundation, in collaboration with the CAPED Team, India, conducted both theoretical and practical training for staff nurses and Community Health Officers (CHOs) at Civil Hospital. The session focused on enhancing their skills in primary cervical cancer screening.
We recognise the global impact of cervical cancer on women’s health. Tresna Foundation and the CAPED Team have initiated a campaign aimed at making Kheda District free from cervical cancer.
As a key step in this initiative, 122 staff nurses and CHOs from Vaso, Nadiad, Kathlal and Mahudha in Kheda District have received specialized training in the VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) method for primary cervical cancer screening. The training covered both theoretical knowledge and practical application to ensure comprehensive learning.
This training aims to detect early signs of cervical cancer and facilitate timely treatment. It was conducted under the expert guidance of Dr. Raju and his team from Preventive Oncology at NCI AIIMS (National Cancer Institute – All India Institute of Medical Sciences), Jhajjar, Haryana.
The success of this campaign was made possible with the unwavering support of the Kheda District Health Department. The key contributors included Dr. Dhruve, CDHO, Dr. Kavita Shah, CDMO, Dr. Ashwin Ghori (Gynecologist, Head Civil) and their dedicated staff. We express our sincere gratitude for making the initiative a success.
